Last Minute Nature-ist Listing: Foraging Walk in Peckham

0810.shroom.jpg If you like nature, and free things, and long walks, then we've got the perfect event for you tomorrow. A nice lady called Penny from the unlikely sounding Pickling Peckham has organised a foraging walk with the aim of showing you just how very much useful stuff there is strewn round and about, just waiting for you to harvest it. Of urban mushrooms there are urban legends a plenty, but whozzabout quinces, or barberries, or mulberries, medlars and rosehips? Not to mention dozens of herbs for cooking or plants which may be made into soothing decoctions. The walk sets off at noon from the allotments in Bonar Road: sign up on the Transition Town Peckham Facebook page, or you could just turn up. Probably best to dress for all weather, and bring a foraging bag in which to gather your spoils. If you find any blackberries, we want pie, please. (Image/walk away from louisville)
