| Posted: 25 Oct 2010 02:26 PM PDT Halloween is this Sunday and a restaurant in Schuylkill County is getting into the spirit. Pizza is being served up at Basile's Restaurant near Tamaqua but this pizza is different. It's made with pumpkin topping for the Halloween celebration. "For around this time this is really nice and it has a good taste to it as far as I'm concerned anyway," said Daryl Hummel of Hometown. "The taste is good. It's different instead of pepperoni or sausage. I liked it really well," said Sandy Scott of Hometown. Customers said the pumpkin pizza has a sweet taste. "I might try it again because I am going to take a piece home for someone else to try it," said Anna Faust of Tamaqua. For four hours Monday the pizza was given out free. "I came up with the idea with my wife in celebration of ah Halloween," said owner Vito Basile. "The season for pumpkins. We have a lot of them so we started making pizza with them," Paola Basile. Basile's opened nearly two years ago. They said another reason for the free pumpkin pizza is to give back to the customers who have supported them. The Basilies said this is not the last of their specialty pizza. For Thanksgiving it will be pizza made with mashed potatoes and turkey.
